TEHRAN – STARK-STAVING Tehran has issued a blood-curdling warning to the West, vowing a “decisive” response to any meddling in its affairs.
In a dramatic escalation of rhetoric, the Iranian Defense Council declared that the country’s security and independence are “red lines” that will be defended at any cost.
The council’s outburst comes as international pressure mounts on the regime, with Western leaders ramping up calls for change within the Islamic Republic.
But the hardline council hit back today, snarling that any “hostile course” taken by foreign powers would be met with an immediate and crushing blow.
A spokesperson for the council raged: “Security, independence, and territorial integrity are RED LINES.
Any interference will face a DECISIVE response.”
The chilling threat is seen as a direct swipe at “interventionist” talk from London and Washington.
Insiders say the regime is increasingly rattled by “rhetoric” from abroad as internal tensions continue to simmer.
But the Defense Council insists it is ready for a fight, claiming it will not hesitate to strike back if it feels pushed into a corner.
The warning follows months of deteriorating relations between Iran and the West, with both sides now seemingly on a collision course.
