IRAN was plunged into total chaos last night after its “Godfather of Terror,” Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was wiped out in a devastating joint US-Israeli “decapitation” strike.

With the regime in freefall, hardline cleric Ayatollah Alireza Arafi has been rushed in to take over the dead tyrant’s duties as part of an emergency “Interim Leadership Council.”

The news of Khamenei’s demise—confirmed by the regime’s own Tasnim news agency—sparked wild celebrations in the streets of Tehran, with brave locals defying the morality police to cheer the end of the 86-year-old’s 37-year reign of iron.

In an operation codenamed “Epic Fury” by the US and “Lion’s Roar” by Israel, precision missiles slammed into Khamenei’s residence in the early hours of Saturday morning. Satellite images show the palace was reduced to a smoking crater.

US President Donald Trump confirmed the kill, branding Khamenei “one of the most evil people in history” and declaring: “Justice has been served.”

Arafi, 67, a staunch Khamenei loyalist and head of Iran’s network of Islamic seminaries, now becomes the “religious face” of a three-man transition team. He is joined by:
Masoud Pezeshkian, the Iranian President.
Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei, the country’s ruthless Chief Justice.

While the trio technically shares power, insiders say Arafi—the only senior cleric in the group—will be the one pulling the strings until a permanent successor is crowned.

The Middle East is now a hair-trigger away from total war. Iran has already vowed “revenge” and launched retaliatory strikes against Israel and several Gulf states. Meanwhile, reports suggest the strike also wiped out several top Revolutionary Guard commanders, leaving the regime’s military “headless.”

The Shadow Successor
Ayatollah Alireza Arafi has long been the regime’s “safe pair of hands.” Born in 1959, he rose through the ranks as a member of the powerful Guardian Council and the Assembly of Experts.

Known for his hardline views and deep ties to the religious elite in Qom, he was personally handpicked by Khamenei for top roles.

While he lacks the “rockstar” status of some generals, his appointment signals that the mullahs are desperate to keep a lid on the country as it teeters on the brink of revolution.
