LAUSANNE – The International Olympic Committee, IOC today published its Annual Report for the Olympic Games held between 2021 and 2024.

The report was published after the approval of the Consolidated Financial Statement by the 144th OIC session in March 2025.

The report, the last to be presented by IOC President, Thomas Bach before passing on the baton to Kirsty Coventry, his successor showed that some 5 billion people or 84 percent of the potential global audience tuned in to watch the games, making the Olympics the most followed Olympics Games in history.

Nine(9) million tickets were sold while 8.5 million fans watched the Olympics and Paralympic Torch Relays.

According to the report, USD 4.7 million revenue was realized per day in the 40 days that the three Olympics Games were held in the period, bringing estimated income to about $188 million.

The three Olympics include the main Olympic Games(16 days), Youth Olympic Games (13 days) and the Paralympics(11 days).

Ninety(90) percent of the income accruing from the combined games, according to the report were distributed to the wider sporting movement to help athletes and sports organizations at all levels around the world.

The revenue in question excludes income from broadcast rights etc.
