ALIMOSHO, Lagos, Nigeria – A gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of Alliance for New Nigerian (ANN) has reassured residents of Lagos that the ongoing feud and internal crisis currently being experienced by the ruling All Progressives Congress is for the overall good and welfare of every resident, other States of the Federation and Africa which continue to look up to the State for good governance.
Mr. Oluyinka Oyeniji, a Legal Practitioner spoke from his Alimosho Constituency office over the weekend; urging all stakeholders in the state to be grateful to God for this time when liberation and deliverance is sure after two decades of continuous and uninterrupted governments of the same set of few individuals who never gave priority to prudence, accountability nor transparency.
Ahead of the Gubernatorial Primaries of the Party coming up later this week, Oyeniji affirmed that the Lagos Masterplan is enviable, one that must be sustained with dynamic changes which the whole world has been experiencing in the last decade. He decried the systematic dismantling of Public Institutions in the State and insisted that this could not have been the dream of the founding fathers of the State including enviable dignitaries such as Alhaji Lateef Jakande.
He enthused that the ALLIANCE FOR NEW NIGERIA is the different Party of choice, the only force which is poised, focused and determined to create a new nation. If elected, the Aspirant promised to declare a State of Emergency in the health and educational sectors. Mr Oyeniji underscored his anguish at the uneven development in the State which has seen the Ikorodu, Amuwo Odofin, Badagry and Alimosho areas suffer untold hardships. He thereafter pledged to restore LASTMA, LAWMA and other MDAs which had been starved of funds and development.
The Aspirant concluded by stating that under the present arrangement in Lagos State, no genius – Governor could work independently and sustainably. He argued that the present predicament of Governor Ambode was suffered by the latter’s Predecessor and until Lagos Residents experience independence, they would continue to suffer multiple taxes, unfriendly policies and a dearth of real and sustainable development.
