LAGOS, Nigeria- Inspirational gospel singer, Sammie Okposo is dead. He was 51.
According to his manager, Hillary Vincent, the musician who has amassed so much weight in recent past slumped and died earlier today.
It is not clear what could have killed Sammie Okposo who hails from Ozoro, Delta State. But available records show he was not sick prior to his death. He had his last Sammie Okposo Praise Party (SOPP) on November 4th, 2022 and it was a blast.
Sammie Okposo was educated at Unity School Agbarho and Delta Career, all in Delta State before he proceeded to the University of Benin for his degree programme.
He started his musical career in Nollywood, where he became a master churning out beautiful sound tracks for movies before delving into gospel music. He won dozens of awards in soundtrack production and in gosple music.
Sammie who has become renowned for his praise jams, SOPP also slated his Christmas concert titled Love Feast for Sunday, December 11 before his death.
