Abuja, Nigeria – Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed Saturday, December 10, 2016 for House of Assembly election (Senate and House of Representatives) in Rivers State.
This is coming few days after the Senate threatened to embark on strike from December 10, 2016 if INEC refuses to hold the re-run election which is seen as long overdue.
But in a statement, Secretary to the commission, Mrs. Augusta Okakwu said the Rivers election will now hold in December.
INEC also fixed House of Representatives election for Lagos State and Councillorship election for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for Saturday December 3, 2016 as well
