December 4, 2015 – There are indications that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has insisted on using late Prince Audu’s running mate, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke as Deputy Governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the supplementary election scheduled for Saturday despite his threat to stay away from the election,

INEC had in a notice to the 22 political parties in the state signed by its Secretary, Mrs. Augusta Ogakwu notified them of the supplementary election scheduled for Saturday to allow APC replace late Prince Abubakar Audu and to allow INEC’s Returning Officer to conclude elections in the 91 polling units.

In fulfillment of INEC’s request, the APC replaced Audu with Yahaya Bello who came second during the primaries conducted by the APC.

The party did not replace Faleke, suggesting that he remains the party’s candidate for the election.
