EBUTE METTA, Lagos, Nigeria – Folashade Idoko, a 23-years old woman, was today arraigned before a Lagos magistrate court, Ebute-metta, for allegedly stabbing her husband to death, at Aiyetoro, Ijanikin area of Lagos State.
Folashade was arriaged on one count charge bordering on murder. According to inspector Akpan Nseyo, the IPO, “Folashade, had misunderstanding with her husband Lawrence ldoko. After a brawl, the suspect, the IPO said entered the kitchen, picked a knife and stab the husband severally and left the victim in a pool of blood for hours before neighbor noticed the incident.
‘’When I visited the scene, I saw a kitchen knife and a towel soaked with blood on the floor, there was blood stain from the inner room to the living room down to the entrance door,’’ he said.
Those who testified against the suspect were the landlord and a neighbour who said she has humiliated the husband in a bear parlour, stripped him naked before the public on one occasion. ” There was even a time when she sliced her husband’s ear lobe with a broken bottle before his death, she had made attempts to kill the husband severally.
The defendant, an auxiliary nurse and mother of two claimed she did not intend to harm the husband, but that there was a fight and both of them were dragging the knife when it mistakenly fell and injured the husband.
The charge reads, “that you Folashade Idoko on August 20, at about 3pm at No. 2, Ganiyu Akanni close Aiyetoro, Ijjanikin, Lagos, in the Lagos State Magisterial district did unlawfully killed your husband, one Lawrence Idoke age 33 years by stabbing him on his right scab with a kitchen knife and thereby committed an offence contrary to section 223 of the criminal laws of Lagos state of Nigeria, 2015. Magistrate K.A Ayeri adjourned the matter till September 28,2017.
