The marriage institution is so delicate that those involved must take necessary precaution to protect the union by caring physically and emotionally for each other. Young Pastor Ruben paid dearly for ignoring this wise admonition in the film On Bended Knees.

Reuben is a devoted head Pastor, so committed that every other thing including the emotional needs of his wife is secondary. An earnest plea from his wife, Kemi for love and attention was rebuffed. Kemi who is hitherto a house wife opted for paid employment. Her uncommon brilliance and business acumen in the workplace soon endeared her into the heart of her boss.

Photographs of their initial outing is shot and presented to elders in Ruben’s church. Ruben is forced to decided between his wife and his calling as a pastor. Will he stick to his wife and forgo his position in the church? This is left for you to find out in the film, On Bended Knees, produced by Chioma Akpotha and Emem Isong while Lancelot Imasuen directed it. Produced on DVD, the film is not rated by the National Film and Video Censors Board, but comes with a good storylines, clear picture and audio quality.

It is loaded with lessons for those serving in the Lord’s vineyard never to forsake the emotional needs of their spouse. Chioma Akpotha played Kemi, Seun Akindele played Pastor Ruben while Bashan Aniekwe played Ebube.
