ASABA, Delta, Nigeria – Officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC have assaulted a young Nollywood actress, Helena Duru, the younger sister of Nollywood icon, Francis Duru.
The young actress, according to Emeka Rollas, President of Actors Guild of Nigeria was beaten blue black at about 2:30am by EFCC operatives for her alleged refusal to open the corridor leading to the upstairs, where she resides in Asaba, Delta State.
He identified two of the operatives as Ade and Abdullahi from the Enugu Zonal office. According to the AGN chieftain, before going for this operation, the EFCC officials reported at the police station in Asaba.
“I took this matter up personally by getting the EFCC chairman involved with a petition via a lawyer for a compensation for this lady whose privacy EFCC invaded. EFCC invited her to listen to her version and she was interviewed by operatives named Juliana and Eric in the EFCC and we have their official numbers”, he said.
He said it has been three weeks since the visit yet no further actions by the EFCC, adding that it is obvious EFCC is keeping quiet so that the tempo would die down. “If not, is Ade and Abdullahi the high and mighty that they cannot be brought to book?”, he queried.
“We have seen various police men been dismissed for various misconduct in the recent past why is EFCC own different?”, he queried.
“We are asking EFCC to make public the report by JULIANA and Eric. All Actors should repost this as many times as possible to get justice for Helena #justice4helena”, he said.
