Lisbon, July 11, 2016 – Portuguese trooped out into the street to welcome their national team which piped host France 1 – 0 to lift the Euro Cup 2016.
Portugal won in extra time even without captain of the team, Christiano Ronaldo who was stretchered out of the pitch in tears after he was brought down by two French defenders.
Portugal won the Euro Cup, 12 years after the team lost as host to Greece. Eder, a young man from Guinnea Bissau , now a Portuguese who came in few minutes to end of game scored the decider.
The team arrived Lisbon and made a brief stop at the Presidential palace.
