GAZA, Palestine – The Islamic Resistant Movement, Hamas has accepted requests from the Red Cross to send food and medicine to captives, following release of the video of Israeli captive Avitar David in an unbearable starving situation in a Gaza tunnel.
But in a statement, Spokesman for the Al-Qassam Brigade, the military wing of Hamas, Abu Obeida said for the acceptance, there must be natural and permanent opening of humanitarian corridors for passage of food and medicine for people in all areas of Gaza and cessation of all forms of enemy aerial sorties during the time of receiving parcels for the captives.
“We stipulate for this acceptance the natural and permanent opening of humanitarian corridors for the passage of food and medicine for all our people in all areas of the Gaza Strip, and the cessation of all forms of enemy aerial sorties during the times of receiving parcels for the captives”, Obeida said.
He said Al-Qassam Brigades do not intentionally starve the captives.
“They eat what our fighters and all our people eat, and they will not receive any special privilege in light of the crime of starvation and siege”, he said.
