ONITSHA, Anambra, Nigeria – Dr. Chike Akunyili, the husband of the late Director General of the National Food and Drugs Administration and Control, NAFDAC, Dr. Dora Akunyili is dead.
He was murdered by unknown gunmen at Nkpor. Sources say he was killed while returning from the memorial lecture of his late wife, Dora Akunyili.
Dora Akunyili remains the all time best director general of NAFDAC. She died of cancer after surviving assassination attempt on her life.
Dora Akunyili was the most feared DG of government agency during her time and successfully rid the system of fake drugs, a development which brought her into conflict with peddlers of fake drugs in Onitsha and associated markets.
