TEXAS, United States – At least eighteen children and two adults, including teachers have been killed at Rubb Elmentary School, Uvalde, Texas. The gunman was however shot dead by policemen who responded to distress call.
Uvalde is a Hispanic community located west of San Antonio.
The gunman, Salvador Ramos was alleged to have killed his grandmother but abandoned his vehicle before entering the school with hand gun to open fire on the children, Texas Governor, Greg Abbot said.
Speaking on the incident, Uvalde Police Chief, Peter Arrendondo, Uvalde Police Chief said the school, Rubb Elementary School will be closed for some time and that investigation ongoing .
Meanwhile, President Joe Biden who has been briefed on the incident has ordered that the national flag be flown as half mast. He is to speaking on the incident later on Wednesday.
