Guardians of the Galaxy Takes Lead as Box Sales Somersaults in US

September 7, 2014 – Guardians of the Galaxy shot to number one in Box Office sales at the weekend even as sales fell to a level never experienced in a very long time.

Put together by Buena Vista, Guardians of the Galaxy made $10.160 million after passing through 3, 221 viewing centres in the US.
Teenage Mutant, Ninja Turtle which was number two last week retained that position with sales standing at $6.5 million after making appearance in 3, 273 theatres in the US.

If I Stay, put together by Werner Brothers made it to number 3 when sales fell to $5.750 in the 3,157 theatres where it made appearance in the US.
Let’s Be Cops, which was number 5 last week moved one step up to number 4 when it returned $5.4 million to Fox Pictures from the 2,932 film viewing centres where it was exhibited in the US.

November Man produced by Relativity Media made $4.2 million after touring 2,776 theatres in the US.

Other new films that came to Box Office during the week are The Identical, Forest Gump, Innocence, But Always, Last Days in Vietnam and God Help the Girls.
