December 09, 2015 – Sexy lady of the Lagos State House of Assembly has finally accepted to chair House Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights, Public Petitions and LASIEC.
Tejuoso who has been a member of the house in the last 10 years had rejected the committee for what many alleged to be its non-juicy nature.
Tejuosho, who is representing Mushin Constituency 1 in the assembly, created a scene, when Speaker Obasa announced the formation of the committees and their chairmen early last month immediately after sitting by rejecting the position.
She had protested that she had earlier met with the Speaker on the issues relating to the committee formation and that she expected the Speaker to get back to her, adding that she could not handle the position.
The matter however, elicited responses from her colleagues in the next sitting, when the lawmaker representing Ajeromi/Ifelodun Constituency 1 in the Assembly, Hon. Dayo Famakinwa, who is a member of he Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), told the House that he needed to be educated if it was right for a lawmaker to reject the position of committee chairmanship against the rule.
Those, who spoke at the sitting condemned the action and suggested that Hon. Funmilayo Tejuosho should either apologise for what they termed an insult on the House or be ready to face the consequences.
The matter was later put to rest, when Tejuosho apologised for the way she rejected the offer, while insisting that she did not know any other way to express her rejection of the position, saying that she still stood by her word.
A twist was however, introduced to the development, when the Speaker announced on the floor of the House on Monday 7th December that Hon. Tejuosho would be representing the Assembly at the launch of the Lagos State Laws of 2015 by Governor Ambode as the Chairman of the House Committee on Judiciary.
Tejuosho, who was present at the meeting did not raise objection, confirming the reports in some quarters that she had capitulated over the matter.
This was further confirmed as Hon. Tejuosho gave a report of what transpired at the launching during plenary on Tuesday 8th December, where she said she attended the event in her capacity as the Chairman of the House Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights, Public Petitions and LASIEC.
