PORT HARCOURT, Nigeria – The Rivers State Governor, Mr. Siminalaye Fubara has kept his case with the members of the Rivers State House Assembly in court despite a settlement by President Bola Tinubu.

The case cited, Suit No. IHC/230/2023 at the Isiokpo High Court, Rivers State, presided over by Justice O. Ben-Whyte could not be withdrawn today following disagreement between parties in the suit.

Counsel to the Rivers State House of Assembly, Ferdinand Orbih, SAN informed the court that he has instruction from his client to withdraw the suit following the agreement entered into by parties following Presidential intervention.

But counsel to Fubara, D.O. Okoro, SAN informed the court that he does not have instruction from the court to withdraw the suit against the Rivers State House of Assembly.

The court directed counsel to the claimant to confer with his client and inform the court about his intention.

Justice O. Ben-Whyte adjourned the matter till 31st of January for report of settlement.
