WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump has declared the kinetic phase of the conflict in Iran “very complete,” signaling a shift in U.S. strategy toward securing global energy markets and stabilizing oil prices.
Speaking from Florida, the President detailed the aftermath of “Operation Midnight Hammer,” claiming that the U.S. has effectively obliterated Iran’s manufacturing capabilities and eliminated two tiers of the country’s military and political leadership.
With the global economy reeling from the conflict, the White House has moved to reassure energy traders. To prevent a catastrophic spike in crude prices, the President announced that the U.S. Navy will begin escorting oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical choke point where Iran recently launched a failed barrage of over 1,000 missiles at regional neighbors.
In an unprecedented move to stabilize shipping, the U.S. is now offering political risk insurance.
”We want to keep oil flowing,” the President stated. “If they hit us, we will hit them harder than they will never be able to recover. We are offering insurance because, if they do something, the risk will be incalculable.”
The “Venezuelan Partnership” and Sanction Waivers
To further ease market pressure, the administration is preparing a suite of oil-related sanction waivers. The primary offset for lost Middle Eastern production appears to be a burgeoning “partnership” with Caracas.
Following the recent capture of the Maduro regime, the President confirmed the U.S. has already secured 100 million barrels from Venezuela, with another 100 million barrels currently “on the way.”

The President also revealed details of a “constructive” phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin. While acknowledging the “entrenched hatred” between Putin and Ukrainian President Zelensky, Trump noted that Putin “wants to be very helpful” regarding the Middle East crisis.
However, the outlook for a long-term diplomatic resolution in Tehran remains grim. The President expressed sharp disappointment over the selection of Mojtaba Khamenei to succeed his father as Supreme Leader.
Leadership Vacuum: Trump characterized the appointment as a continuation of “47 years of killing” and predicted it would lead back to the same cycle of war.
Nuclear Red Line: Trump reiterated that the military intervention was a preemptive strike to stop Iran from achieving “immune” underground nuclear power, following a rejected offer of free nuclear fuel.
Humanitarian Concerns and “Midnight Hammer”
Despite the military “success”—which Trump claims saw 83% of Iranian ballistic missile launches neutralized and drones downed within five minutes—the administration faces questions over civilian impacts.
Investigations are currently underway into an attack on a girls’ school in Iran, an incident the President said he is “willing to live with the report” once findings are finalized.
As the U.S. looks to wind down what it calls a “short-term excursion,” the focus has moved squarely to the ledger. Between naval escorts in the Gulf and the rapid extraction of Venezuelan crude, the White House is betting that military dominance can be translated into energy stability.
