Nairobi, Aug. 35, 2016 – Nigerian musical prodigy Flavour N’abania is currently in Coke Studio, Nairobi, Kenya, for the third time this year. Last year on the show he was a fans favourite thanks to his collaborations with Ugandan sultry singer Juliana Kanyomozi.
This year, Flavour will be collaborating with Angolan artiste of the Atchu Tchutcha fame Yuri Da Cunha. The two artistes will be produced by the Ugandan producer Bushingtone and are expected to re-do some of their loved hit singles.
Determined to maintain his stature on the upcoming new season, he said, “Many of my fans have loved my Coke Studio Africa collaborations because of my chemistry with the ladies. This time it will be different because I am working on a vibe with Yuri too, and we’re getting there.”
Exclusively speaking during the recording of the show – Flavour spoke highly of Yuri: “He’s such a wonderful and talented musician. We’ve spent some great times in the studio.” Flavour also spoke about the success of Masterkraft’s song Finally that featured him and Sarkodie. “
The collaboration of Finally started right here at Coke Studio Africa last year. He played me the beat in Kenya and we started performing – later in Nigeria Sarkodie came and did his verse and then boom!” Masterkraft is among top African producers including Madtraxx (Kenya), Maphorisa (South Africa) and Chopstix (Nigeria), tasked by the show to engineer music collaborations and fusions cutting across versatile styles and genres.
Yuri on the other hand praises Coke Studio Africa for pairing him with Flavour. He says that before his time on the show, he had been looking to connect with Flavour ever since discovering him on YouTube. “I was looking for him to feature in my album that will feature African artistes, and meeting him here has made me so happy! I didn’t expect to meet him.”
Coke Studio Africa is a non-competitive show seeking to bring together, and showcase the diversity of African musical talent. Additionally to Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Nigeria and Mozambique – the upcoming season 4 of Coke Studio Africa now includes artistes from Ethiopia, Togo, Ghana, Cameroon and Ivory Coast.
