BRENTFORD 3 – 1 BURNLEY
By our Reporter at the game
BRENTFORD – The Gtech Community Stadium was absolutely detonated last night as Brentford delivered an insane, action-packed nine-minute scoring spree, dismantling Burnley 3-1 in a Premier League encounter that was tight until the death.
For 80 minutes, the atmosphere was tense, the fans restless, and the scoreline stubbornly stuck at 0-0.
But then, all hell broke loose, turning the calm west London venue into a chaotic carnival of goals!
The drama started in the 81st minute when Brentford’s new hero, Igor Thiago, stepped up to convert a penalty.
The Gtech Community Stadium faithful barely had time to finish their celebration songs before the madness continued. Four minutes later, Burnley hit back with a penalty of their own, coolly dispatched by Zian Flemming (85’) to seemingly restore the balance and silence the home crowd.
Just sixty seconds later, Thiago proved he’s worth the ticket price, smashing home his second in the 86th minute, sending the noise levels soaring into the stratosphere.
The Burnley defence simply couldn’t cope with the sudden, brutal pressure as the Bees sensed blood in the water.
And the party wasn’t over! Deep into stoppage time (92’), Dango Ouattara put the cherry on the cake, slotting home Brentford’s third to seal a thrilling 3-1 victory.
The final whistle met with a roar of sheer relief and euphoria, proving that the Gtech Community Stadium is one of the toughest, and most dramatic, places to visit when the clock hits the red zone. What a night!
