August 2, 2014 – At least 65 people have been killed in a fire explosion in the province of Jiangsu, in Kunshan city, China. More than 120 workers were also reported injured by Chinese media.

The incident occurred at around 7:30 AM at a factory where wheels are made for car makers in the United States including General motors, Chinese media have said.

According to reports monitored on CCTV, more than 200 workers were at work when it happened, adding that 45 of the workers died immediately.

According to the media a preliminary investigation suggested that the explosion was caused by negligence after a flame was lighted in a dust-filled room.
