October 28, 2014 – After several months of speculation, Speaker of the House of Representative, Hon. Aminu Tambuwal has finally defected to the All Progressive Congress(APC).
The speaker who was elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) however rose to become Speaker on the strength of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria(ACN) one of the parties that fused into the APC.
Up to this moment, he was representing Kebbe/Tambuwal Federal Constituency of Sokoto State.
Tambuwal announced this in a short message he personally read at the end of plenary today.
He said he was leaving the PDP due to the political developments in Sokoto state.
