ABUJA, Nigeria – The Federal Government today banned medical doctors who are its employees from henceforth embarking on private medical practice.

The Federal Government made the decision during the weekly Federal Executive Council(FEC)meeting in Abuja.

The FEC, presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari noted that hence forth the Federal Government would enforce no work, no pay policy on any worker that embarks on strikes.

In a joint media briefing after the FEC, the Minister of Health Prof. Isaac Adewole and Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige noted that most of the unions that recently embarked on strike contravened the labour laws especially the Trade Dispute Act.

The ministers said that a committee had been set up for comprehensive evaluation of job done by workers especially in the public sector.
