LAGOS, Nigeria – Veteran actor and star of the international soap, Tinsel, Mr. Victor Olaotan who has been bedridden for years will now have every reason to smile. This is due to the favourable response he has received from Nigeria’s oil magnate and Chief Executive of Zenon Oil, Femi Otedola who has promised to pick up the $50,000 medical bill, earmarked for his treatment abroad.
The actor, suffered a tragic accident on the Lagos /Ibadan Expressway and has since been hospitalised and later placed on induced coma for years. It has not been easy for his wife and family to take care of his medical bills but somehow they have been carrying on.
Now he is faced with the possibility of amputation. Local doctors have threatened to amputate his two legs to save his life. The only prospect to save his life and legs is to source for $50,000 to enable him get medical treatement abroad. The situation appeared hopeless until help came from Femi Otedola and the actor is having every reason to thank him for this gesture.
Iconic actor, Richard Mofe Damijo brought this to public attention when he initially posted this message.
“Several years ago, I met this man and we hit it off, we had a lot in common, including same interest in music and from time to time, he would give me playlist of his latest collection. Then during the shoot of 3 wise men, we developed a stronger bond. Anyone who knows Victor well will easily attest to the fact that he is the life of the party and he always brought it on and off set; So to imagine my shock when I got a call from Opa Williams informing me of the tragic accident and seeing him in this state has been horrific.
“It has been a hard road to travel especially for his wife and family. This is long overdue, but I am happy that a lot more people now have him in their prayers and I believe this will end in praise and Victor will be able to say thank you to himself and everybody that has contributed or contributing to ensure his speedy recovery”, he said.
In the quest of soliciting for assistance for a colleague, he reached out to the oil magnate and he is having every reason to thank God.
“Just this morning, Femi calls to tell me that he will take care of all Victor’s bills. He told me that he is already on it and that his people are already talking to Victor’s wife”, he said.
