WASHINGTON – The Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI said it has arrested Jack Douglas Teixeira, a 21 year old man for allegedly leaking classified U.S government and military secrets.

The documents were drafted in late February, March 1 and March 2 and contain tactical statistics and maps of the battlefield in Ukraine that appears to have been drafted by the Pentagon’s Joint Staff including clear photographs.

Some the documents are strategic U.S. intelligence analyses that touch on Ukraine’s fight with Russia, South Korea, its strong ally and other regions of the world that seems to have been put together by the CIA and other U.S. intelligence agencies.

All the documents are classified as top secret and contain specific information about whether they can be shared with foreign partners. They also include how the information was obtained, including signals intercepts.

They contain many statistics about Ukrainian forces, equipment provided to Ukraine by the U.S. and other countries and casualty figures. Some of the documents describe specific analytical intelligence for other parts of the world and include intelligence gathered from both adversaries and friendly nations.

Announcing the arrest of the 21 year old Jack Douglas Teixeira, the FBI said he was taken into custody without any incident and that he was arrested at his residence in North Dighton, Massachusetts.

The FBI said it has aggressively pursued investigative leads since the leaks hit the internet, adding that his arrest exemplifies it continued commitment to identifying, pursuing and holding accountable those who betray the US and put its national security at risk.

“Today, the FBI took 21-year-old Jack Douglas Teixeira into custody without incident at a residence in North Dighton, Massachusetts, for his alleged involvement in leaking classified U.S. government and military documents.

“Since late last week, the FBI has aggressively pursued investigative leads, and today’s arrest exemplifies our continued commitment to identifying, pursuing, and holding accountable those who betray our country’s trust and put our national security at risk”, the FBI said.
