April 28, 2015 – The National Executive Committee, (NEC) Of the Mega Progressives Peoples Party (MPP) has suspended its National Chairman Mr. Dare Falade from office, for alleged acts of gross misconduct and misappropriation of funds.

In his place, the NEC has appointed National Treasurer of the Party, Mr. OLayinka Akanni as Acting Chairman of the party.

Acting National Chairman, Mr.  Olayinka Akanni has on behalf of the party urged the law enforcement agents to assist the party to track down Falade who is said to have escaped to South Africa  as a matter of urgency in order to retrieve the party’s funds and property in his possession.

In a press statement after an emergency meeting attended by 26 national officers from across the country, NEC resolved that after a critical examination of the tenure of office of Mr. Dare Falade as the National Chairman and in accordance with the provisions of the constitution of the party and work  ethics of his personality, the party resolved that the chairman is absolutely running an exclusive administration contrary to the terms and conditions of his office.

“In other words, he always failed to carry along other relevant officers of the party in making decision that affects the party”, the party said.

According to the party, the ex-chairman   runs a non-responsive administration coupled with act of financial impropriety to the extent that when an account is to be opened and operated for the party, he flagrantly refused, but rather decided to manage the party funds like his personal estate.

The party at the end of the meeting affirmed among others  that  INEC and other organizations should henceforth stop dealing with Dare Falade as National Chairman of the party.

The party has also alerted the various arms of the law enforcement agents to keep watch on the suspended chairman of the party.
