STUTTGART – Fabian Wohlgemuth is moving from second division side Paderborn to join VfB Stuttgart as their new sporting director, the Bundesliga club said on Saturday.
Wohlgemuth signed a contract until June 2025 and will replace Sven Mislintat, who left the club at the end of November.
“With the change of sporting director, we want to set both a new impulse and a sign of continuity,” Stuttgart CEO Alexander Wehrle said.
Wohlgemuth recognized that the current sporting and financial challenges at Stuttgart, who sit third-last in the league during the World Cup break, “will test our team spirit.”
