ISRAELI warplanes have dealt a “shattering blow” to the Iranian regime after a precision air strike killed the country’s Minister of Intelligence in the heart of Tehran.
In a breathtakingly bold midnight raid, the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) eliminated Esmaeil Khatib, the man responsible for the regime’s global web of terror and the brutal crushing of its own people.
Acting on “gold-standard” intelligence, the Israeli Air Force penetrated Iranian airspace overnight to strike Khatib, a veteran of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) who has long been at the top of Israel’s “most wanted” list.
The Architect of Terror
Khatib, hand-picked by Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in 2021, was the mastermind behind Iran’s global espionage network.
He didn’t just target enemies abroad—he was the “Butcher of Tehran” during the 2022 Mahsa Amini protests, overseeing the arrest and killing of thousands of innocent Iranians who dared to stand up to the regime.
An IDF spokesperson confirmed the kill, stating: “Khatib led the Ministry of Intelligence’s terrorist activities against Israeli and American targets around the world. His elimination significantly degrades the regime’s command and control structures.”
World on Edge
The strike is the most significant assassination in the region since the killing of Qasem Soleimani. It marks a massive failure for Iran’s security forces, as Israel proved it can strike any target, anywhere, at any time.
The Ministry of Intelligence under Khatib was known for its “dark arts”—covert operations, surveillance, and plotting assassinations against Western targets. Recently, he was the driving force behind “Operation Roaring Lion,” a series of Iranian-backed attacks aimed directly at the State of Israel.

Military experts say the elimination leaves the Iranian regime “blind and leaderless” in its intelligence gathering.
The IDF added: “The IDF will continue to operate against Iranian terror regime commanders. No one is out of reach.”

Who was Esmaeil Khatib?
Khatib was a hardline loyalist to the Supreme Leader. Having risen through the ranks of the IRGC, he was the “eyes and ears” of the Islamic Republic. Since his appointment in 2021, he transformed the Ministry of Intelligence into a more aggressive unit, focusing on “asymmetric warfare”—using proxies and hit squads to target dissidents and Israeli citizens across Europe and the Middle East.
Why now?
The strike comes during a period of heightened tensions (Operation Roaring Lion). Israel has shifted from striking Iranian proxies (like Hezbollah) to “decapitating” the leadership in Tehran directly. By killing the man who manages the spies, Israel is effectively “pulling the plug” on Iran’s ability to coordinate terror attacks in real-time.
The Mahsa Amini Connection
Khatib was the chief architect of the crackdown on the “Woman, Life, Freedom” movement. His ministry was responsible for the systematic torture and execution of protesters following the death of Mahsa Amini in 2022. For many Iranians today, his death will be seen as a long-awaited moment of justice.
