Hands off Greenland’ warning and shock Iran regime change plot

By SCM FOREIGN AFFAIRS REPORTER

EUROPEAN bigwigs have today declared total financial war on Vladimir Putin by pledging a staggering $90 billion (£70bn) to keep Ukraine’s front lines firing.

In a defiant show of unity, EU Commission Vice-President Kaja Kallas and German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius stood shoulder-to-shoulder to announce the massive cash injection.

The “Service Fund” is designed to keep Ukraine’s war machine running as they battle to kick out Russian invaders.

But the pair didn’t stop at the chequebook. A fresh “Sledgehammer” pack of 25 new sanctions is currently being drawn up to squeeze the Kremlin’s economy until it pops.

IRAN UNDER PRESSURE
In a move that will send shockwaves through Tehran, the EU and Germany also signaled they are ready to see the back of the Iranian regime.

However, Pistorius and Kallas were clear: the change must come from the brave people of Iran. They confirmed they are backing “regime change from within” rather than a Western-led invasion.

GREENLAND IS NOT FOR SALE
The high-stakes press conference also saw a stern “hands off” warning over Greenland.
Following past rumors of international interest in the icy territory, the EU chiefs stood firm, declaring the island stays part of Denmark.
While they vowed to work closely with the United States on Arctic security, they warned they would “resist” any attempt at a takeover.

SPECIAL RELATIONSHIP
Despite recent diplomatic jitters, the message to Washington was clear: we are better together.

The EU leaders insisted they would never ditch their “decades-long” bond with the US, stating that the West is at its strongest when Europe and America act as one.

The Ukraine Context: This $90 billion pledge comes at a critical time when Ukraine is facing renewed Russian offensives and requires consistent funding for military logistics and civil services.

The Greenland Dispute: This refers back to historical tensions (notably during the Trump administration) where interest was expressed in the US purchasing Greenland. The EU is now reaffirming Danish sovereignty while maintaining a strategic partnership.

The Iran Stance: This marks a shift toward more overt support for internal Iranian protestors, moving away from purely diplomatic nuclear talks toward supporting domestic political change.

Transatlantic Relations: Amidst rising populism on both sides of the Atlantic, this statement is a strategic move to solidify the NATO-adjacent bond between the EU and the US.
