FRANKFURT – Eintracht Frankfurt captain Sebastian Rode is sidelined for the time being with a calf injury, the Bundesliga club said on Saturday.

Frankfurt said that Rode damaged a tendon in his calf in the first half of Thursday’s 2-1 Conference League win against Aberdeen where he was substituted in the 38th minute.

The club did not say when they can expect Rode back, saying only he was out for the time being. That 32-year-old had only just returned to action from a bout of flu.

Frankfurt next host Freiburg on Sunday, with forward Mario Götze also a doubt.
