October 16, 2015 – Former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Godswill Akpabio was today arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC).
According to Premium Times, Akpabio was picked by EFCC operatives at about 5.20 pm.
He was said to have been accompanied by a few aides and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, Ricky Tarfa.
According to the online newspaper, an aide to the former governor, who cannot be named revealed that Mr. Akpabio is currently being interrogated by top officials of the EFCC.
