IKOYI, Lagos, Nigeria – The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) today arraigned former Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose before a Federal High Court in Lagos. Fayose was arraigned along with his company Spotless Investment Ltd before justice Mojisola Olateregun for N6.9 billion.
Fayose who arrived the court amidst heavy security pleaded not guilty to the 11 count charge proferred against him by the commission.
Shortly after his arraignment defence counsel, Mr Kanu Agabi (SAN), who is a former Attorney General of the Federation, told the court that he has filed a motion on notice for the bail of the accused and that same had been served on the prosecution.
In response, the EFCC Prosecutor, Mr Rotimi Oyedepo, who confirmed service of the bail application, told the court that he required time to reply.
Justice Mojisola Olatoregun, consequently, adjourned the case until October 24 for the hearing of the bail application.
