ABUJA, Nigeria – The Department of State Services (DSS) has announced the dismissal of a total of 115 personnel as part of its ongoing internal reforms aimed at sanitising the Service.
The DSS, in a public statement issued on Tuesday, not only confirmed the mass dismissal over an unspecified period but also issued a stern warning to Nigerian citizens regarding the activities of some of these former operatives who are now attempting to defraud the public.
Specifically, the Service reiterated earlier disclaimers concerning the duo of Barry Donald and Victor Onyedikachi Godwin.
The DSS stressed the necessity of informing the public that some of the dismissed persons continue to pose as active personnel of the Service to carry out fraudulent activities.
”Members of the public are therefore advised to desist from any official dealing with these individuals who have been dismissed by the Service,” the statement read.
The agency urged the public to exercise extreme caution and verify the identity of anyone claiming to be a DSS operative before engaging in any official transaction.
For the purpose of clarity and transparency, the DSS confirmed that the complete identities of all the affected personnel have been officially published on the Service’s website. Citizens who wish to verify the list of dismissed individuals can visit dss.gov.ng/media/more/4.
The dismissal of the 115 staff signals the agency’s commitment to internal cleansing and professionalism within the security establishment. The DSS remains committed to upholding its mandate and protecting the integrity of its operations.
