ABUJA — The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has successfully hosted the fourth edition of its annual Talent Hunt Hackathon, convening software developers, tech innovators, and startups to drive solutions for digital inclusion and technical accessibility.
Held under the theme “Technology Without Barriers,” this year’s edition gathered bright minds across Nigeria to push the boundaries of innovation, focusing on building accessible digital tools to bridge the nation’s digital divide.

The Core Focus was enhancing accessibility, promoting local research, and fostering digital inclusion in Nigeria’s telecommunications space
Speaking at the event, commission representatives emphasized the role of local tech talent in solving domestic challenges.
The competition provided a platform for participating teams to pitch software and hardware solutions aimed at breaking systemic barriers in education, financial technology, and broadband accessibility.
The NCC Talent Hunt Hackathon is a flagship initiative designed to support the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy’s mandate to cultivate local tech talent.
Previous editions of the hackathon focused on critical sector challenges, including renewable energy solutions for telecom infrastructure, AI-driven customer support tools, and cybersecurity mechanisms for local enterprises.
Winning solutions from past editions received funding grants, incubation support, and regulatory guidance to commercialize their ideas.
By hosting the fourth iteration, the NCC continues to position Nigeria’s telecommunications sector as a major catalyst for youth employment, digital literacy, and homegrown economic development.
