FCT, ABUJA – A TOP police chief has been hauled back to headquarters after a sickening video emerged showing him slapping a young man.

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) for Ushafa was sensationally redeployed yesterday after a furious backlash erupted online over the footage.

The clip, which went viral on X (formerly Twitter), shows the officer giving a young man a savage slap on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.

Federal Capital Territory Commissioner of Police, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, immediately cracked the whip, ordering the DPO’s instant removal and launching a full investigation.

CP Dantawaye didn’t mince his words, strongly condemning the officer’s actions, saying they fell “short of the high standards of discipline, civility, and professionalism” expected.

He warned that such “unacceptable” behaviour would “not be tolerated” under his leadership.

While administrative disciplinary steps are being taken against the cop, the Commissioner issued a stark warning to all police officers.

He reminded them they must remain “professional, courteous, and law-abiding” in their duties, adding that “any act of misconduct or abuse of power will attract severe sanctions.”

The FCT Police Command is now urging the public to report any suspicious activity, calling for “mutual respect and cooperation” between the force and residents.

FCT residents can report suspicious activity or persons by calling the commands emergency number via: 08061581938, 08032003913, or the CRU on: 08107314192.
