LAGOS, Nigeria -Dr. Doyin Okupe, a former Special Adviser to former Presidents, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and Dr. Good Jonathan is dead.
He was 72. According to family members, Okupe died of cancer related ailment.
Okupe last spoke on X on local government autonomy which he said is against the spirit of true federalism.
“I don’t believe in local govt autonomy. It is anti theatrical to the spirit of true federalism.
” The federal govt is in grave error for encouraging this by taking the states to the Supreme Court on this matter.I pray the SC will put the records straight& settle this matter finally”.
