Lausanne, Switzerland – The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) today dismissed the appeals filed by the Chinese weightlifters Chunhong Liu and Lei Cao against the decisions issued by the Disciplinary Commission of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) dated 10 January 2017.
Both weightlifters received gold medals at the Beijing Olympic 2008.
CAS has consequently confirmed the IOC Disciplinary Decisions in which the athletes were found to have committed antidoping rule violations at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and disqualified the athletes from the events in which they participated: Chunhong Liu – Women’s 69kg (gold medal), and Lei Cao – Women’s 75kg (gold medal).
