November 8, 2016 – Donald Trump of the Republican Party has been elected as the 45th President of the United States of America. He defeated Hilary Clinton of the Republican Party in a keenly contested election.

Speaking to cheering supporters early Wednesday morning at his victory party in New York City, the president-elect said he will be President for all Americans. He also said Hilary Clinton has called to congratulate him on his victory.

“Secretary Hilary Clinton called and congratulated us and I congratulated her for a hard fight”, he said adding that she fought hard during the campaign and that the American people owe her a lot of gratitude for serving the American people.

“I will be president for all Americans,” Trump said, adding that “The forgotten men and women of our country will be forgotten no longer. … America will no longer settle for anything less than the best.”
