FIORENTINA took a giant leap toward Serie A safety tonight, dismantling a shell-shocked Cremonese 4-1 at the Stadio Giovanni Zini.

In a clash billed as a “winner-stays-up” dogfight, the Viola didn’t just fight—they danced. Led by a masterclass from Brazilian wing-back Dodô and the icy brilliance of Albert Gudmundsson, the visitors turned a tense relegation battle into a seaside stroll.

The game was barely 25 minutes old when Fabiano Parisi opened the floodgates. Latching onto a clever ball from Rolando Mandragora, Parisi’s angled drive took a nick off Romano Floriani Mussolini and squirmed through the legs of Emil Audero.

Before the home fans could find their voices, it was two. Robin Gosens—the German engine who never seems to tire—spotted Roberto Piccoli with a laser-guided through ball. Piccoli did the rest, finishing with the kind of “aplomb” that suggested Fiorentina belong nowhere near the bottom three.

If the first half was about efficiency, the second began with pure Samba flair. Just four minutes after the restart, Dodô embarked on a sensational solo run from his own half.

The 27-year-old scorched down the right wing, sold the keeper and a defender a dummy that sent them both to the shops, and rolled the ball into an empty net.

It was a goal of such staggering individual quality it drew appreciative murmurs even from the home stands.

The hosts did briefly threaten a comeback when David Okereke ended a three-year Serie A goal drought with a tidy tap-in on 57 minutes. But the “Viola” weren’t in the mood for a collapse.

The cherry on top arrived in the 70th minute. A move featuring two outrageous backheels from Marco Brescianini and Piccoli found Albert Gudmundsson. The Icelandic star swept the ball home first-time to restore the three-goal cushion and effectively send the Cremonese fans toward the exits.

The result leaves Cremonese three points adrift of safety, while Fiorentina move four points clear of the drop zone, looking up rather than over their shoulders.
