Deputy Governor Absconds from Primary Responsibility in Lagos

September 12, 2014 – Members of the Public have continued to express apprehension over the attitude of the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire over what they express as her primary responsibility.

Those who spoke to our correspondent said monitoring of environmental sanitation has been known in Lagos State as the primary responsibility of successive deputy governors of the state until Orelope-Adefulire came on board.

“Have you ever seen her come out on sanitation days to monitor the exercise? I can recall that she came out about two times since she assumed office but since then she has never showed up and that is not good for her”, a respondent who chose to be anonymous told our correspondent.
Our source added that her presence serves to dignify the exercise most especially when resident expect that the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Fashola will visit to carry out the inspection.

“Now we have less than nine months to the end of this government, so when will she ever come out and perform her primary responsibility?” , our source queried.

He alluded to the era of the former governor, Princess Adebisi Sarah Sosan whom he said brought a lot of zeal into the exercise adding that her attitude affected the way and manner residents of the state go about the sanitation exercise.
