IKEJA, Lagos, Nigeria – Officials of the Nigerian Police Force(NPF) have arrested owner of the deadly petrol-laden tanker that exploded on the bridge by Sir Michael Otedola Estate on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
According to the Lagos State crime fighting outfit, Rapid Response Squad (RRS), the man, Yusuf Maiwake was arrested in Kano by homicide detectives from the the State Criminal Investigation And Intelligence Department (SCIID), Panti Yaba, Lagos.
“Homicide detectives from the State Criminal Investigation And Intelligence Department (SCIID), Panti Yaba, investigating the Otedola Bridge tanker fire of 26/6/2018 have arrested the tanker owner, Hassan Yusuf Maiwake in Kano State”, the RRS said on Tweeter.
Recall that not less than 10 lives and about 57 vehicles where burnt beyond recognition when the tanker in question lost control on the bridge when the brakes failed, skidded before bursting into flames.
The incident happened in the evening on Thursday, June, 28, 2018.
