SOUTH AFRICA – The embattled President of South Africa, Mr. Cyril Ramaphosa has been elected by the ruling African National Congress, ANC to lead the party in the next two years.
Recall that activities of Cyril Ramaphosa in his Phala Phala Farm Report was debated by the South African parliament and narrowly escaped impeachment proceedings.
But in the election which followed a week later, the ANC voted that Cyril Ramaphosa should lead the party in the next two years in an election that was characterized by irregularities.
According to sources, there were 4436 eligible voters but 4384 voted.
At the end of the conference, Cyril Ramaphosa was elected president of the party, while Paul Mashatile was elected Deputy President of the ANC,
