DOHA, Qatar – African pride, Morocco showed class in the third place match at the ongoing Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup but not good enough to walk over Croatia who defeated them 2-1 to pick the bronze medal in the tournament.
Croatia showed a lot of zeal in its approach to the game, shocking Morocco in the 7th minutes when Gvardiol connected a solid pass from Perisic to put the scores at 1-0.
But Morocco proved it is equal to the task when Dari made it 1-1 just 2 minutes later and held on tenaciously to the game until the 42nd minutes when Orsic made it 2-1 for Croatia after connecting a pass from Livaja.
It was one of the best game in the encounter with Morocco trying as best as possible to equalize but wasted the last minute chance it had in the extra time to end the game 2-1 in favour Croatia.
Croatia had 51 percent against 49 by Morocco. Shots on goal, Croatia 4, while Morocco had just 2. Throw in, Morrocco had 19 against 14 by Croatia. Goal kicks, Croatia had 12 while Morocco had 11.
