LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 51 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases in the country to 167, 206. But out of the 167, 206 all time cases, 163, 550 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2, 117 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 1, 539 active cases of Coronavirus.
“NCDC @NCDC gov 51 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-41, Rivers-5, Gombe-3, FCT-1 and Akwa Ibom-1: 167,206 confirmed; 163,550 discharged and 2,117 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.
On the global scale, there are now 177, 971, 610 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, 3,854, 127 patients have passed on while 2, 565,566,178 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered worldwide based on the latest updates from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States of America remains the most afflicted, reporting 33, 521,816 confirmed cases while 601, 717 patients have lost their lives as a result of the pandemic(4308 new and 474 deaths*), followed by India which has reported 29,823, 546 all time cases, while 385, 137 lives have been wasted(60, 753 new and 1647 deaths*) and Brazil which has reported 17, 801, 462 all time infections, while 498, 499 patients have passed on(98,832 new and 2495 deaths*).
France is the 4th country most afflicted, now reporting 5, 817, 272 all time infections, while 110, 886 lives have been wasted by the pandemic(2630 new and 22 deaths*) , followed by Turkey which has documented 5, 365, 208 all time cases, while 49, 122 patients have died as a result of the virus(5480 new and 51 deaths*) and Russia which has reported 5, 237, 847 all time cases, while 126, 761 lives have been wasted(17, 679 new and 461 deaths*).
The United Kingdom has come up as the 7th country most hit, reporting 4, 636, 990 confirmations, while 128, 234 patients have passed on(10,091 new and 14 deaths*), followed by Italy which has reported 4, 252, 095 all time infections, while 127,253 lives are no more(1193 new and 28 deaths*) and Argentina which has documented 4, 242, 763 all time cases, while 88, 247 lives are no more(20, 363 new and 458 deaths*).
Colombia has come up as the 10th country most afflicted, reporting 3, 888, 614 all time infections while 98, 746 lives have been wasted by the pandemic(28, 790 new and 590 deaths*) and South Africa which has documented 1, 810, 164 all time cases, while 58, 590 patients have died as a result of the pandemic(13, 575 new and 149 deaths*).
