YABA, Lagos, Nigeria – A Yaba Chief Magistrate’s Court in Lagos, has remanded Peter Nielsen, who allegedly killed his wife, a musician, Zainab, and his 3-year-old daughter, Petra, in Ikoyi Prisons. Nielsen, a Danish citizen, was docked before the court on a two count charge of murder by the Police.




According to the police, the offence is punishable under section 223 of the criminal laws of Lagos state of Nigeria, 2015.After the charge was read to Danish, the prosecutor, Mr. Effiong Asuquo, a Chief Superintendent of Police, CSP, told the court that the accused committed the offences on the fifth of this month at his residence at Bella Vista Tower, Banana Island, Ikoyi.

He urged the court to remand the Danish in prisons custody, pending an advice from the Department of Public Prosecution, DPP. In her ruling, the presiding Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Kikelomo Ayeye ordered that the accused be remanded at the Ikoyi Prisons pending the outcome of legal advice from the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP’s).

The matter has been adjourned till eighth of next month, for outcome of DPP advice.
