LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigerian Police Force today remanded Ayobami Clinton and his wife, Mrs. Adebayo Ayobami in Kirikiri Prison for assault on police officer on duty.

They were  remanded following their arraignment at a Magistrate Court in Lagos for assaulting police officer on duty.

In a video uploaded by the Nigerian Police Force,  Mrs. Adebayo Ayobami was seen physically beating the police officer and squeezing his uniform for flagging down the Mercedes  Benz car conveying them without a number plate.

She thereafter brought out her baby from the front seat in her bid to  get public sympathy after manhandling the officer on duty.  Watch the video at SP Benjamine Hundeyin on Twitter.

Reporting on the incident, Public Relations Officer of the Lagos Police Command, SP. Benjamin Hundeyin explained that the incident took place on Sunday at 2:30 PM at Oluwaga-Ipaja.

“Yesterday, July 24, 2022 at about 2:30pm, police officers of Ipaja Division flagged down a Mercedes Benz car for not having number plates at Oluwaga-Ipaja.

“A passenger, Mrs Adebayo Ayobami aggressively and disdainfully questioned why the police officers stopped her husband and not other vehicles.

“She, thereafter declined to answer any question. In an attempt to get them to the station for further questioning owing to their unprovoked aggressiveness and suspicious behavior, she and her husband, Ayobami Clinton assaulted the police officers.

“The car was impounded. They were arraigned today; and the court remanded them at Kirikiri prison”, he said.
