COTE D’IVOIRE – Host of the Africa Cup of Nations, Cote d’ivoire has bounced back to reckoning at the Africa Cup of Nations, (AFCON 2023) beating Mali 2 – 1.

Both teams approached the encounter with alot of trepidation but the first half ended goalless.

The teams came into the second half more determined.

But it was Mali that had the first celebration when Nene Dorgeles put his team ahead in the 71st minutes.

Simon Adingra made it 1-1 in the 90th minute and the game dragged on until full time, forcing it into extra time.

Oumar Diakite made it 2-1 for Cote d’ivoire at exactly 120 minute and held on to the tally until the final whistle.
