LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 8 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 167, 103. Out of the 167, 103 cases, 163, 528 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2117 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 1458 cases of Coronavirus pandemic.
“NCDC@NCDCgov 8 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Rivers 4, FCT 3 and Kwara 1: 167, 103 confirmed; 163, 528 discharged; 2117 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.
There are now 176, 790, 755 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 3,825, 381 patients have died as a result of the pandemic, while 2, 439, 233, 633 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered worldwide, based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States of America remains the most afflicted country, reporting 33, 496, 627 confirmed cases, while 600, 624 lives have been lost to the pandemic(14, 926 new and 452 deaths*), followed by India, which has documented 29, 633, 105 all time cases, while 379, 573 patients are no more(62, 224 new and 2542 deaths*) and Brazil which has reported 17, 533, 221 cases, while 490, 696 lives have perished as a result of the pandemic(80, 609 new and 2468 deaths*).
France remains the 4th country most hit, reporting 5, 809, 314 all time infections, while 110, 740 lives have been destroyed by the virus(3067 new and 48 deaths*), followed by Turkey which has registered 5, 348, 249 all time infections, while 48, 950 lives have been claimed by the pandemic(6221 new and 71 deaths*) and Russia which has reported 5, 189, 260 confirmations, while 125, 443 patients have died from the virus(13, 209 new and 388 deaths*).
The United Kingdom remains the 7th country worst hit by the virus, now reporting 4, 605, 805 all time infections, while 128, 190 lives have been destroyed by the virus(8818 new and 9 deaths*), followed by Italy which has reported 4, 248, 432 confirmations, while 127, 153 lives have been wasted by the pandemic(1400 new and 52 deaths*) and Argentina which has documented 4, 172, 742 all time infections, while 86, 615 patients have died as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic(27, 260 new and 586 deaths*).
Colombia has retained the 10th country worst hit by the virus, now reporting 3, 802, 052 all time cases while 96, 965 lives have been wasted by the pandemic(24, 452 new and 599 deaths*) and South Africa which has reported 1, 774, 312 all time infections, while 58, 223 patients have passed on, following the onset of the pandemic(72, 156 new and 136 deaths*).
