LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 590 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases to 173, 411. But out of the 173, 411 confirmed cases, 164, 978 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2, 149 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 6284 active cases, while 8 patients died in the last 24 hours.

There are now 197, 058, 957 confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic worldwide, 4, 204,185 patients have been killed by the virus, while 4, 038, 718, 989 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, now reporting 34,814, 925 confirmed cases, while 612, 388 patients have passed on(63, 880 new and 266 deaths*), followed by India which has recorded 31, 572, 344 confirmed cases, while 423, 217 patients have died from the virus and Brazil, which has documented 19, 839, 369 all time cases and 554, 497 deaths.
France remains the 4th country most hit, reporting 6, 166, 591 all time infections, while 112, 011 patients have died(24, 309 new and 60 deaths*), followed by Russia which has registered 6, 161, 985 all time cases, while 155, 180 patients are no more alive(23, 016 new and 776 deaths*) and the United Kingdom, which has documented 5, 857, 558 all time infections, while 129,877 patients have passed on(29, 240 new and 68 deaths*).
Turkey has come down as the 7th country most hit, reporting 5, 704, 713 all time cases, while 51, 253 lives have been killed by the virus (22, 083 new and 69 deaths*) , followed by Argentina which has documented 4, 905, 925 all time infections, while 105, 113 patients are no more and Colombia which has reported 4, 766, 829 all time cases, while 120, 126 patients have died.
Spain remains the 10th country most hit with 4,447,044 all time cases, while 81, 846 lives have been wasted (24, 753 new and 404 deaths*)and South Africa(17) with 2, 435, 036 confirmations, while 71,679 patients have kicked the bucket(12, 885 new and 248 deaths*).
