LAGOS, Nigeria – A MET POLICE officer has been booted out of the force after he sexually assaulted a female client while working off-duty at a beauty clinic.
PC Mark Thomas, based in Met Operations, was instantly SACKED without notice after a misconduct panel found his actions amounted to a gross breach of professional standards.
The disturbing incident took place on August 3, 2022, when Thomas was working at the beauty clinic in his spare time.
He used the cover of a routine treatment to launch the disgusting assault on the helpless woman.
The victim bravely came forward, sparking a police probe led by Cambridgeshire Police.
Thomas was arrested as part of the inquiry, but prosecutors dropped the criminal case as the evidential threshold was not met.
However, Scotland Yard’s Professional Standards department pressed on, with a panel concluding the sleazy cop had breached standards relating to authority, respect and courtesy, and discreditable conduct.
Detective Chief Superintendent Simon Stancombe, from Professional Standards, blasted the dismissed officer’s behaviour.
He said: “PC Thomas’ actions were particularly disturbing given his attempts to use the beauty treatment as a cover to commit the offence.
“This must have been an awful experience for the victim, and I commend them for coming forward.
“We continue to go above and beyond to rid the organisation of those who corrupt our integrity.”
The disgraced cop has now been added to the College of Policing’s Barred List, meaning he can never again be employed in a policing role.
Thomas also received prior “reflective practice” for failing to register the beauty clinic as a business interest with the Met
